SCARF (work with the scarf yarn)
Please note, that for my snowman the length of the scarf is enough to wrap it twice around the toy’s neck and leave short ends. If you prefer longer ends for the scarf, make a longer chain.
Ch 81, work sc in 2nd ch from hook and ch 2 (counts as 1st dc). Continue working on the chain, 79 dc (80 dc sts).
Cut the yarn and fasten off.
ASSEMBLY AND FINISHING (please, read the entire section before you start working)
1) Sew the head to the body (the head is very easy to sew because you can work stitch to stitch).
IMPORTANT! If you are using safety eyes, insert and secure them between rnds 8&9 of the head, the distance between the eyes should be about 6 sts.
2) Embroider the eyes and sew the nose. Tip. You can hide any ends on the top of the head, just make sure they will be hidden under the bowler hat later.
Again, I suggest to work on the eyes between rnds 8&9 of the head, and the distance between the eyes is about 6 sts.
3) Observing the symmetry, sew the arms and the beads to decorate the belly (alternatively, you can embroidery some décor on the belly).
4) Sew the bowler hat to the top of the head, catching the back loops of Rnd 8 of the hat and the head stitches. Make sure that it hides any embroidery / sewing knots.
5) Wrap the scarf twice around the snowman’s neck, secure the scarf by sewing a button to it (though you surely can make the scarf removable).
Sew in any ends.
Congratulations! Your cute snowman is ready, hope you enjoyed the process and love the toy!
