AMIGURUMI ELF WENDY FREE CROCHET PATTERN
Legs and Body
Start with the color BLACK:
1. 6sc in MR [6]
2. 6inc [12]
3. In BLO: 12sc [12]
4. 12sc [12]
5. 1sc, 1dec, (2sc, 1dec) x2, 1sc [9]
6. In FLO: 9sc [9]
Include stuffing and keep stuffing as you go along with the piece. Cut the yarn and make an invisible finish on both feet. In the back loops left over from row 5 (photo 2), insert a new WHITE yarn into the back of the shoe (so that the color change is behind the doll) and do:
Note: On the other leg, do not change to white but to YELLOW and you will do the entire sequence in this color until it is time to change to green.
7. In BLO: 9sc [9] *NOTE: It’s a little hard to see.*
8. 9sc [9]
Change to RED *only on the first leg*
9. 9sc [9]
Change to WHITE *only on the first leg*
10. 9sc [9]
Change to GREEN:
11. In FLO: 9inc [18]
12-13. 18sc [18] – 2nd row
Finish with 1slst and fasten off both legs.
With the legs facing away from you, attach a new GREEN thread to the inner side of the leg (the one with the striped sock) and join it with 1sc on the other leg. This sc will count as the 1st stitch of the next row (the chain stitch that was made to attach the thread does not count).
14. 18sc in 1st leg, 18sc in 2nd leg [36]
15. 36sc [36]
16. 9sc, 1dec, 17sc, 1dec, 6sc [34]
17. 10sc, 1dec, 15sc, 1dec, 5sc [32]
18. 9sc, 1dec, 14sc, 1dec, 5sc [30]
19. In FLO: 30sc [30]
Finish with 1 sl st and make an invisible finish.
In the back loops left over from row 18 and on the back of the doll, insert a new RUM yarn and do:
20. In BLO: 30sc [30]
21. (3sc, 1dec) x6 [24]
22. 24sc [24]
23. 1sc, 1dec, (2sc, 1dec) x5, 1sc [18]
24. 18sc [18]
25. (1sc, 1dec) x6 [12]
Before we continue with the head, let’s make the front of the overalls by working back and forth rows. Set aside 6 stitches centered on the front of the romper and, with the doll turned upside down, insert a new GREEN yarn (in the photo this is where the blue marker is positioned) and do:
1. 6sc, 1 ch and turn [6]
2-3. 6sc, 1 chain turn [6] -2 rows
Make 1 more sc in the last stitch and go around the entire edge of the jumpsuit with sc to finish it off. Go around everything until you reach this stitch. At the corners, make 1 inc to avoid gathering.
Now let’s move on to the head.
Change to BEIGE color:
26. In BLO: 12sl st [12]
27. In BLO: 12sc [12]
28. 12inc [24]
29. (3sc, 1inc) x6 [30]
30. 2sc, 1inc, (4sc, 1inc) x5, 2sc [36]
31-37. 36sc [36]-7 row
Place the eyes between rows 33 and 34 with 7sts of distance between them (when positioned with the pins) and 5sts of distance visible with the eyes inserted.
Embroider the nose, eyes and eyebrows as you prefer.
38. 2sc, 1dec, (4sc, 1dec)x5, 2sc [30]
39. (3sc, 1dec) x6 [24]
40. 1sc, 1dec, (2sc, 1dec) x5, 1sc [18]
41. (1sc, 1dec) x6 [12]
42. 6dec [6]
Close with reverse MR and hide the yarn.
Arms (2x)
No need to add stuffing.
Start with BEIGE color:
1. 6sc in MR [6]
2. 6sc [6]
Change to RUM color:
3. In BLO: 6sl st [6]
4. In BLO: 6sc [6] 5-7.6sc [6]-3rows
Flatten the piece and close by joining the two sides with 3sc. Cut the thread, leaving it long for sewing. Sew on the sides of the body and diagonally (to hang the Christmas bauble without falling). Make an extra stitch close to the body so the arm is more closed.
Overall straps (2x)
With GREEN thread:
1. Make 14ch
Cut the thread leaving it long enough for sewing and sew the ends of the straps to the front and back of the romper.
Ears (2x)
Do not add stuffing. With BEIGE color:
1. 4sc in MR [4]
2. 4sc [4]
3. 1inc, 3sc [5]
4. 3inc, 2sc [8]
5. 8sc [8]
Finish with 1slst. Cut the yarn, leaving it long enough for sewing. Sew between rows 32 and 34, 3sts away from the eyes.
Scarf
Work in flat crochet. With the color YELLOW:
NOTE: If you want the scarf bigger, make more ch.
1. 46ch, from the second ch go back making 45sc, 1 ch and turn [45]
2. In BLO: 45sc [45]
Cut the yarn and fasten off.
Hair
With the PINK color:
1. 6sc in MR [6]
2. 6inc [12]
3. (1sc, 1inc) x6 [18]
4. 1sc, 1inc, (2sc, 1inc) x5, 1sc [24]
Make 1slst. Now we will make the strands:
Make 18ch, go back from the 3rd ch making 16hdc and attach to the next base st with 1slst. Repeat the process until you have a total of 16 strands.
We will make the fringes.
FRINGE 1:
Make 1 sc in the base stitch, go up 6 ch and from the 3rd ch go back making 4 hdc [4]. Skip 1 base stitch and fasten with 1 slst in the next one.
FRINGE 2 and 3:
Make 5 ch, from the 2nd ch go back making 4 sc [4]. Fasten with 1 slst in the next base stitch.
FRINGE 4:
Make 6 ch from the 3rd ch go back making 4 hdc [4]. Skip 1 base stitch and fasten with 1 slst in the next one.
Cut the thread and fasten off or, if you are sewing, leave some thread for sewing. It is important to glue or sew onto the head only after you have sewn on the ears. Once this is done, position the thread on the head with pins, glue the base and the strands as you prefer.
Hat
We will make color changes between WHITE and RED in each row.
Start with WHITE:
1. 6sc in MR [6]
2. (1sc, 1inc) x3 [9]
3. 1sc, 1inc, (2sc, 1inc) x2, 1sc [12]
4. 12sc [12]
5. (3sc, 1inc) x3 [15]
6. 15sc [15]
7. 2sc, 1inc, (4sc, 1inc) x2, 2sc [18]
8-11. 18sc [18]-4rows
12. (5sc, 1inc)x3 [21]
13. 3sc, 1inc, (6sc, 1inc) x2, 3sc [24]
14. (3sc, 1inc) x6 [30]
15. 2sc, 1inc, (4sc, 1inc) x5, 2sc [36]
16. 36sc [36]
17. (5sc, 1inc) x6 [42]
Cut the yarn and tie an invisible tie (if you are gluing it to the head). If you are sewing it, leave the yarn long.
Christmas Ball
With RED color:
1. 6sc in MR [6]
2. (1sc, 1inc) x3 [9]
3. 9sc [9]
4. (1sc, 1dec) x3 [6]
Add stuffing, close with an inverted MR and hide the thread. Place a gold thread coming out of the ball, the size needed to later hang it on the elf’s hand.
You can embroider the ball with white thread as you see fit and, if you want, you can also use white glue with glitter.
Congratulations!!!
The little elf Wendy is finished and ready to help you decorate your Christmas party!!
