Difficulty Level: Easy
A charming ocean-themed amigurumi project to add a playful sea creature to your handmade collection.
This free Seahorse Amigurumi pattern is designed by Elena Guselnikova and inspired by the cheerful sea character from the cartoon “Dragon Tosha.” With its curved silhouette and expressive crocheted eyes, this design makes a delightful addition to ocean-themed decor, nursery toys, or thoughtful handmade gifts. The body is worked using semi-cotton yarn such as YarnArt Jeans or Gazzal Jeans, creating a smooth and durable texture. Sea creature projects like the mini turtle amigurumi show how small ocean animals can become charming favorites. We sincerely thank Elena Guselnikova for sharing this creative seahorse design.

This pattern is suitable for crocheters comfortable assembling small parts and shaping soft toys. The seahorse is crocheted using a 2–2.5 mm crochet hook, and the eyes are made directly with yarn instead of plastic safety eyes. A wire frame (about 15–18 cm) can optionally be inserted into the body to help the toy hold its curved shape. If you enjoy ocean animals, you might also love the cute dolphin amigurumi featured on our blog.
The finished toy measures approximately 18–20 cm, depending on yarn thickness and hook size. To complete the project, you will need YarnArt Jeans yarn in dark purple, bright pink, white, black, and green, along with stuffing, stitch markers, a yarn needle, and basic tools. At the end of the pattern, you will also find more amigurumi seahorse ideas shared for extra inspiration.
